Gastro Hydratation

Purpose: The gastro hydratation IV infusion is designed to provide rapid relief and rehydration for individuals suffering from gastroenteritis, which often leads to dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, and nutrient loss. This cocktail helps to replenish lost fluids, restore electrolyte balance, and provide essential vitamins and minerals to support recovery.

Ingredients:

1. Normal Saline (0.9% Sodium Chloride):

   • Purpose: Rehydrates the body by replenishing lost fluids and salts.
   • Dosage: 500-1000 ml

2. Electrolytes:

   • Potassium Chloride: Replaces potassium lost due to vomiting or diarrhea.
   • Magnesium Sulfate: Supports muscle and nerve function, helps in preventing cramps.
   • Calcium Gluconate: Assists in balancing calcium levels, supporting bone health.
   • Dosage: Customized based on the patient’s electrolyte levels.

3. B-Complex Vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6):

   • Dosage: 1-2 ml

4. Vitamin C:

   • Purpose: Acts as an antioxidant, supports immune function, and helps in tissue repair.
   • Dosage: 2-5 g

5. Glucose (5% Dextrose):

   • Purpose: Provides a quick source of energy and supports blood sugar levels.
   • Dosage: 250-500 ml (optional, depending on patient's glucose tolerance)

6. Ondansetron or Metoclopramide:

   • Purpose: Anti-nausea medication to help control vomiting.
   • Dosage: 4-8 mg (Ondansetron) or 10 mg (Metoclopramide)

7. Zinc Sulfate:

   • Purpose: Supports immune function and speeds up recovery.
   • Dosage: 10-20 mg

8. Glutathione (optional):

   • Purpose: A powerful antioxidant that aids in detoxification and boosts the immune system.
   • Dosage: 600-1200 mg

Administration:

• The infusion is administered over 60-90 minutes, depending on the patient’s tolerance and specific needs.
• The dosage of each component can be adjusted according to the patient's condition, age, and severity of dehydration.
